Eight B.C. properties ranked among top 15 hotels in Canada

Eight of the top 15 hotels in Canada are located right here in B.C., according to a new ranking released this week.

U.S. News & World Report this week released its 2018 rankings for the best hotels around the world, and British Columbia properties snagged eight of the top 15 spots in Canada.

Vancouver’s Rosewood Hotel Georgia took first place in the consumer ranking, while Tofino’s Wickaninnish Inn came in third. Vancouver’s Wedgewood Hotel was in fourth place and the Fairmont Pacific Rim was sixth.

The consumer ranking looked at more than 24,000 luxury hotels in 200 destinations across the U.S., Europe, Canada, Mexico and Bermuda to create area-specific lists.

The rankings are created by scoring the hotels using a methodology that combines each property’s industry awards with expert and guest reviews. Only luxury hotels – those with four stars or more – are included in the ranking.
